Like: Purchased entire Imprint collection. All boardbooks contained the expected movable parts we've come to love! All books were received in great condition and were well packaged.Dislike: (Other than some of the book cover photos posted by the Seller(s) indicated no moveable piece in the cover, which caused me to wonder whether or not the particular boardbook contained moveable parts), none.Reason: Gift purchase.

We discovered Bizzy at the library and ordered as many of these online. The 12-month-old loved them for a year. Unfortunately, loved these books to pieces. It was a matter of time before he would try to tear at the pieces. A few times I could repair them with glue and packing tape. Out of 5 of the books, I think 2 of them are still in ok condition. I would still get them because of how much the child loves to interact with the movement and they are sturdily made. It is just that if you are not staring at the child every second that they are with the book (or any book) it is likely they will try to tear at it.

Super cute, fun books. Perfect for my 2 year old. She loves all the moving pieces!

As big as it is, with as many pages as it has, the web is really in its infancy. New technologies are constantly being developed. Some of these will suceed and some will not. Microsoft SharePoint Web Parts are one approach that gives the end user some control over the information content and appearance of information coming from an Internet host. The current version of web parts is 2003. This new is not necessarily compatible with the older 2001 version. It does appear however that the system is getting closer to being ready for prime time. Note that these are new features a la Microsoft. Other browsers, or older browners will not support the capabilities.It is possible for each end user to exercise some control over the pages he sees, but except in extraordinary circumstances, this doesn't seem likely. It seems more oriented to internal corporate users where the web designer can do specific team oriented customized views. In essence the salesmen in the field can see one thing, displayed in a manner comfortable for them, while the accounting department sees something quite different.The Rational Guide books are somewhat of a new concept in publishing where a small book, compared with most computer books, can hold down the price and the size while devoting itself to one subject. In addition, the publisher has made additional information available on his web site to allow the reader to expand his knowledge beyond just this book. I like this concept. All computer books don't need to be 1,000 pages, much of which is just copied from the previous edition. The audience for this book is considered by the publisher to be a Beginner/Intermediate Developer. Beginner - yes, Web Parts are so new that almost all of us are beginners. But this is not the book for someone just starting out on IIS and ASP .NET.Excellent concept for a book, well executed.

Overall it provides a very good quick start to writing web parts. My one gripe is that they include "Bonus Material" that can be downloaded when you register your book with them (ie: give them all your personal information) such as chapters on "Using the WPPackager Application" and "Using External Resources". Just what I want, to print out material to stick in my book. It makes sense to have the examples and sample web parts available for download but chapters of the book should be published with the book!!!I had hoped this would be more like an O'Rielly Nutshell book which are generally short on blah blah and long on reference material. Unfortunately it gets verbose in many places and only provides reference to the most commonly used objects, methods, and properties.All the same it pulls together enough information to get you started quickly in a small enough book that you can actually use it.

"Building SharePoint Web Parts" will not make you an expert web portal developer. But it will give the experienced ASP.NET professional a digestible take into WSS, SPS and web parts.FYI, Bishop does not explain setting up the required environment. That may prove a bit challenging for the true beginner.One last thing, ASP.NET 2.0 incorporates a "web part" technology. This book may ease learning pains.

Being new to Sharepoint and webparts, I found this book to be concise and to-the-point. Guides you through basic webpart development in C# (when you register the book you can get code in VB if you desire). The book also discusses in straightforward terms debugging, deployment of webparts, code access security, targeting audiences and personalizing content. Plus it is only 175 pages, so it won't collapse your bookshelf.

I was tasked with getting to grips with our 100-strong company's new SharePoint information-sharing system, not as an administrator, not as a developer and not as just an end-user but as a lead contributor managing content and telling the technical architects and administrators what features we need to exploit. This book is excellent in helping me get to grips with what SharePoint offers to a company of 100 people. It avoids over-technical developer-talk but gives a clear introduction to the powerful features of document control and structures based on configurable "web-parts". It leads me through click by click in setting up and managing what I need.

Okay, you can buy this book for the recipes. they're in there, like diamonds in a pile of rock, except the rock is a bunch of gems in its own right.You can learn the history of chili and associated Texas chow and you can learn how foreign influences like California and Ohio have tried to insinuate contaminates into the perfection that is Texas chili.You can read about personalities and quirks and have a good time doing it.And at the end of the day, or in time for dinner, you can grab some meat and some peppers and make your own pot of heaven. It's called chili.

Francis Tolbert's "A Bowl of Red" is an enjoyable read. He was a columnist in Texas, and this book seems to be based on some of his columns. (The narration jumps from first person to third person, and touches on various topics--sounds like he borrowed heavily from his columns in compiling this book.) While he spends a lot of time discussing the beginnings and early years of the Chili cook-off in Terlingua, Texas, in the most substantial part of the book he traces the evolution of chili con carne as it appeared in the southwest. His premise is that it evolved as a staple of the chuck wagon cooks on cattle drives and roundups. There are some interesting recipes in here which I'm looking forward to trying (I prefer bean-less chili with a decent amount of cumin), but this isn't a cookbook in the classic sense--more of a meditation/observation on various aspects of southwestern cuisine.

Frank X. Tolbert was one of Texas best storytellers, and with this book he captured more than how to cook chili, he captured what chili is as a part of Texan culture. It is a great read whether you cook or not. And his basic chili recipe is a hell of a place to start for a great bowl of red.

This book is about Texas Chili; made the way God meant for it to be made,No beans or tofu.and chunks of beef shoulder or brisket ie no chicken or ground beef.

Frank Tolbert's A Bowl of Red started out as a series of columns in the Dallas News but it's hard to define exactly what this book is in terms of form. It's not really a cookbook but I've made terrific chilis from his suggested recipes. It's not even completely about chili, although it starts out with that classic American (not Mexican) dish. Tolbert starts with a rambling history of the origins of chili in Texas cuisine and uses that as a base for wandering around through southwestern cuisine, famous Texas and southern cooks, ghost towns, European immigrants in Texas, the science of chili, chuck wagon chefs and too many other topics to list. His descriptions of the first several World Series of Chili Cookoffs in Terlingua, Texas read like a combination of the Marx Brothers and P.J.O'Rourke.It may be hard to believe but this book is hard to put down. It's one of a kind.

If you love Texas lore and history or food lore and history, you will love this book. More stories than recipes and very entertaining.

Very disappointed in the book. Not enough recipes and the recipes that were in the book were difficult to find and use. The stories were not that entertaining and didn't have a good flow. Read the book for the little bit of history and get your recipes from the internet

You need to have a professor to help you out with this book, otherwise it’s a hassle.

I had to buy this book for an MBA class. The content is good but I had a hard time reading through it. The authors mention the book was written for MBA courses, but I think they could've written in a clearer manner. The writing style was a little convoluted, so I often had to re-read paragraphs to make sure I understood it correctly. And no, I doubt it's my background since I did undergrad at an Ivy League school, and my MBA is also with a top 10 school.

A text used by most universities for graduate level accounting tax strategy classes. Useful also for the practitioner.

Giving 3 stars because there is few times for me to use it.. But the book looks like very neat and good-preserved.

The book is a good introduction to the importance of taxes in business decisions. In some chapters you will find too much theory in respect to the presence of exemples, the chapters introducing international tax planning are too general. The biggest problem of the book is the absence of solutions of the exercices proposed at the end of each chapter. There is a clear international trend to present economics and taxes books with problems and solutions.
