It becomes apparent almost immediately, just after reading a few pages, that this book must have been rushed to press without being edited. Words are routinely missing from sentences, causing the reader to reread the text in an attempt to understand the meaning of the sentence. This wouldn't be a big deal if it happened once or twice throughout the entire book. The problem is, it occurs over and over again; I actually lost count. On page 35, the last sentence in the first bulleted paragraph just ends in mid sentence, leaving the reader guessing.Admittedly, these are annoying, but the real problems are in the content itself. The text refers the reader to figures along the way, but the figures do not always accurately reflect the specifics of the text, or the description below the figures may not accurately describe the figure. In the introduction to the topic of OUs, the book never even once mentions the words "group policy". Group Policy is an important topic as it relates to OUs. Not to mention group policy, even momentarily, in the entire introduction on the topic, is pathetic. But, what was the final straw for me was on page 196, in the section entitled, "Group Policies and OU Design". The text outlines the steps necessary to apply Security Filtering; it refers the reader to the Details tab. The problem is that Security Filtering is found on the Scope tab, not on the Details tab. Furthermore, the figure on the facing page that is referenced by the text doesn't show the Details tab. And, the description beneath the figure says "Adding Read and Apply Group Policy security properties", which doesn't coincide with this figure, and which has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.In summary, a book with these many and varied issues can not be a reliable reference on the subject of Windows Server 2016. This is especially true for a beginner who must rely on and be confident that the information they are receiving is accurate.Look elsewhere!
The book has a lot of content , however, it doesn’t go into much details. Also, it seems like it has been rushed to be published because it’s missing chapter 36 which is listed in the index!
Not exactly what I expected, but a good manual to have in your tech library for reference.
great book
Very hard for beginners, and it gives you just a brief review about the topics
I really liked the book. It was clear, concise, and covered and the major topics. It is a god reference book.
